Juan Luis Crespo / General Manager and Founder of Smartrip

Juan Luis is a Comercial Engineer with a degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and an MBA specialized in tourism and hotel management from EAE Buisiness School in Barcelona, Spain.

He has over eight years of experience in the tourism industry.

He began his career working at the Viña del Mar municipality`s Youth working for Chile program, in charge of tourism and productivity. 

He then arrived at LAN Airlines, where he was in charge of defining and implementing the company´s Internal and Receptive Tourism Strategy.  There he also lead the Preferred Partners Program, a strategic alliance between the airline and their main tour operators, hotels and tourism entities in Chile, Peru, Argentina, and Ecuador, with the objective of promoting these destinations within the international market.

From March 2010 to March 2013 he worked as General Manager of FEDETUR, a federation joining over 1.000 leading companies of the sector in Chile.

Jesús Parrilla / Executive Director

Jesús Parrilla has an MBA with specialization in Marketing obtained from the University of Memphis, in Tennessee, and a Bachelor´s degree in International business from St. Mary`s Universtiy, in San Antonio, Texas. 

With over 8 years in the tourism industry, he was General Manager at Explora Hotels.  During this time, he was also director at Metropolitan Touring Chile, Argentina, and Peru. Prior to this, he was Global Commercial Director at Gate Gourmet International based in Miami, Florida.

He is currently partner at Luxury Frontiers and ITSystem Hotels Chile and a member of the Advisory Board of Galavante, Inc.

Adriana Cruz / Commercial and Marketing Manager

Adriana has a degree in commercial engeneering from the Universidad Católica de Chile.  She completed part of her studies at Stellenbosch University, in South Africa.

She began her professional career in 2007 at Unilever where she was in charge of marketing massive consumer brands.  Leaning her career towards tourism, she completed the course “The Business of Rural Tourism” at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina.

In 2010 she joined Sernatur, in charge of National Marketing and developing the strategy and creation of the brand “Chile es TUYO”, as well as being responsible for the first national tourism fair.

Her passion for travel has taken her around the world in the pursuit of knowledge that she can apply to Chile.

Josefina Vargas / Communications

Josefina is a journalist, a graduate of the Universidad de los Andes and specialized in strategic communication.  In 2011 she was awarded the prize for Best Academic Achievement.

She began her career in 2012 in the department of communication of the Universidad de los Andes, where she worked as a reporter and was in charge of digital channels. 

She then began working as a columnist for the newspaper La Segunda .  She has a profound interest in chronicles, photography and digital communication. 

Today she is the Communications Officer and the sustainability coordinator, responsible for implementing and monitoring sustainability objectives recorded in Smartrip's action plan.

Carlos Molinelli / Financial and Accounting Advisor

Public Auditor and Accountant of UDP, with bachelor´s degrees in Tax Management from USACH and International Accounting from the Universidad de Chile. 

Carlos has over 20 years of experience in auditing, accounting, finance and tax management, out of which 16 were applied in the Hotel and Toursim Industry. He began his carrer at Corpora Holding to then grow and expand to General Accountant and Controller and Explora Hotels. As an auditor, he is currently working as external auditor to Inmobiliaria Aconcagua as well as Colliers International Chile.

Marta Arenas / Reservations

Marta Arenas is Executive secretary and receptive tourism executive.

Marta has over 20 years of experience in the tourism industry.  She worked at renowned Chilean companies, such as Turavion, CTS Turismo and First Premium.  Some rolls taken on within the Receptive Department of these Operators are: sales representative, head of reservations systems, reservations personnel training, receptive support, supervisor of the Americas division.
